"Until, on Vinegar Hill, the final conclave.
Terraced thousands died, shaking scythes at cannon.
The hillside blushed, soaked in our broken wave.
They buried us without shroud or coffin
And in August the barley grew up out of the grave. "

Come all You Bold Canadians

Funfact: The attack on Washington and burning of the White House was led by Maj. Gen. Robert Ross, an Irish officer ;) If you look hard enough in history there's always a Mick involved somewhere along the way.

A bit off topic but another interesting thing about Canada, there's heaps of Newfoundlanders that speak with Irish accents, use Irish slang and use Hiberno-English sentence structure because so many Irish settled there when it was a British colony.
It's really mad, there is small differences but it's so similar it's like talking to another Irish person.

Reminds me of my time in university reading up on the great wars of succession in the 18th century, wondering about all the random Irish people serving every catholic power under the sun (and also Russia for some reason).

Of course, the Catholic part is to be expected 8) But there's always mad shit that crops up in the strangest places. Like how Napoleons personal doctor was an Irish chap called O'Meara or one of the leaders that stormed the Bastille in 1789 was a fella from Wexford called Kavanagh.

I love this track, sounds really fun.
