Our new Holdfast schedule -
In order to accommodate to everyone's precious available time we have decided to evenly space out our Holdfast events over the week. For the moment nothing much has changed, except the Thursday coastal siege we will not be attending presently. The other events on the schedule are your old familiars; the Tuesday training, the Friday linebattle event and the Sunday linebattle event. Everything at the usual times!
Napoleonic Wars - A ghost from the past? -
A lot of our members wet their first bayonet in Mount & Blade Warband - Napoleonic Wars. We left after years of venerated status and we thought it would be great fun to revisit our old home from time to time.
This Saturday (08/09) we will be attending the 33rd Saturday Event at the usual 20 CET
. Everyone who is up for it is free to join!
Kick back and relax with the community -
The 51st Regiment is not just about being yelled at for coughing in a linebattle or being shot in the head for facing the wrong way! Sometimes we decide to have
fun
. Watching a great (probably historical) movie together, playing fun games or even online boardgames are all on the table for our future
community event
nights. Again, we will be formalizing this in the future but we already want
your ideas
put on the table about which movies to watch, what games to play or any other activities we could do on such a night. Don't be shy to bring forward your idea! We also encourage everyone to actively join our TeamSpeak as we play other games already on a daily basis.

Ah, the good ol' days in NW. I almost miss being a totally green recruit who was scared shitless enough to forget the concepts of left and right.

yay! Napoleonic Wars
Also some suggestions; perhaps mini series like; Sons of libery, Hatfields & McCoys, Gods & Generals, John Adams or some older movies like Glory, Gettysburg, Waterloo...

War films anyone?
Classics:
Zulu
The Bridge on the River Kwai
Battle of Britain
The Longest Day
A Bridge Too Far
The Dam Busters
Honourable Mentions:
Master and Commander
Kelly's Heroes
The Cockleshell Heroes
Das Boot
Stalingrad (1993)
Fury
Dunkirk
No doubt you've seen most, if not all of these, but they're bloody good films!
Also maybe some miniseries like Band of Brothers, Generation War, or The Pacific.
I'd happily watch anything though

Letters from Iwo Jima - Perspective from the Japanese during Iwo Jima
My Way - A Korean is forced to fight for the Japanese Army, Red Army, and even Wehrmacht during WW2
Assembly - tells the tale of a Company Commander during the Chinese Civil War through the Korean War.
Those three are my favorite.
